Black Bear Conservation Coalition

Corporate Partnership Program

The recovery of the Louisiana black bear population is a conservation success story in progress.

The Black Bear Conservation Committee invites your company to become an supporting partner in restoring nature's richness and diversity.

Through partnership with the BBCC you will:

  • Support the restoration of a national treasure: the bear that gave rise to the “Teddy Bear.”

  • Restore habitat for bears and other wildlife, including birds and native plant species.

  • Help incorporate the human dimension into bear management.

  • Invest in the education of our youth - the environmental stewards of the future.

  • Create storage for atmospheric carbon on a landscape scale and improve regional air quality.

Join the conversation and get access to in-depth information on bear recovery and protection. The BBCC will keep you updated on how bear management developments may affect business on the ground throughout the bear's range of Louisiana, East Texas, Mississippi, and southern Arkansas.

The BBCC is a long-standing partner of the timber and the oil and gas industries, and large- and small-scale private landowners. We are well-versed at finding common ground among potentially disparate interests, and building on shared goals for the benefit of the bear. We have established a track record of success in conservation leadership by creating innovative public-private partnerships, and leveraging contributions to maximize their value.

A healthy bear population can complement other land use objectives, and can be an asset to the region and its communities. Through an inclusive, credible, science-based approach, endangered species recovery is possible.
